We’re probably familiar with the saying “all good things must come to an end.” It’s easy to think that when things were going well and they turn south all of a sudden. When we think this way, we become discouraged and not hopeful for better things to come along. It causes us to fall away from where we need to be. In the Bible, we are warned about falling away.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:12- “Let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall.”
  • 1 Timothy 4:1-3- “Some have fallen away and others will continue to fall away.”
  • Matthew 13:41-42- “Those who are in His kingdom that are stumbling blocks will be thrown into the furnace of fire.”
  • 2 Peter 2:21- “It would have been better for them to have not known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them.”

There is punishment for those who are fallen away Christians. Whether one has left the fold or has been a stumbling block to the fold and has not repented, they are fallen away and have not made amends. Their doom resides in the hands of God. I wish nothing more for those that might be in this situation to come back to the Lord. In the Lord, all good things are not coming to an end, they are just getting started.
