I. “Why Did Jesus Come into the World?”
A. Let Jesus answer the question (Lk. 19:10; Mt. 20:28; 1 Pet. 1:19; Hb. 4:15).
B. Jesus chose to come into this world (Jn. 15:13; Rm. 5:6-8).
C. What, then, should be our focus?
II. “Why Did Jesus Ascend to the Father?”
A. Jesus’ death and resurrection validated His claim to be the Son of God (Rm. 1:4).
B. It is to our benefit that Jesus ascended to the Father.
1. He is now reigning in heaven as our King (Acts 2:36; Hb. 1:3; Jn. 18:36- 37).
2. He is now serving in heaven as our high priest (Hb. 8:3; 7:27; 8:4; 7:14, 17; 8:1).
3. He is now serving in heaven as our intercessor (Hb. 7:25; 4:16).
C. We have assurance of His abiding presence (Mt. 28:20; Hb. 13:5; Acts 5:32; Mt. 18:20; 26:29).
III. “Why Is Jesus Coming Back Again?”
A. Some basics about Christ’s second coming (Hb. 9:28; Jn. 14:1-3; 2 Pet. 3:10; Jn. 5:28-29)
B. Jesus will come back to judge the world (Hb. 9:27; 2 Cor. 5:7; Jn. 12:48).
C. Things Jesus connects with salvation (Jn. 8:24; Lk. 13:3; Mk. 16:16; Rev. 2:10)
