A SUMMER HARVEST
INTRODUCTION:
A. Summer means many things to many people.
B. Many spiritual comparisons to the season of harvest (Jer. 8:20; Ps. 126:5)
C. Three essentials to a good spiritual harvest:
I. ACCURATE VISION OF TOMORROW
A. Keep in mind the vision of harvest (Jn. 4:35; Mt. 9:37-38).
B. Keep in mind the vision of Christ (Mt. 10:25; Rm. 8:29; 2 Cor. 3:18; Hos. 10:12).
C. Keep in mind the vision of the second coming (Mt. 13:39, 40, 43; 2 Th. 1:7-8; 2 Pet. 3:10).
II. URGENCY ABOUT WHAT MUST BE DONE TODAY
A. Consider that we must sow today in order to reap tomorrow (Prov. 20:4;
Eccl. 11:4, 6).
B. Consider that we will sow tomorrow in accordance with what we have sown today (Gal. 6:7-8; Prov. 22:8; Job 4:8; Hos. 8:7).
C. Consider that today’s decision influences tomorrow’s destiny (2 Cor. 6:2).
III. TRUST IN GOD AS OUR COWORKER
A. We must work (1 Cor. 15:58).
B. We must work together (Jn. 4:36-38; 1 Cor. 3:6).
C. We must work together with God (Ph. 2:13; Jn. 15:5; Ph. 4:13).
CONCLUSION:
A. A lost harvest or a harvest accompanied by joyful shouting (Jer. 8:20; Ps. 126:5).
B. Take a look at tomorrow so that you will know what you must do today.
