II. HE IS SLOW TO ANGER.

A. Perfect balance between patience and anger of God.

B. God has perfect self-control over His anger.

1. He withdraws His anger at repentance (Jer. 3:12; Ps. 85:3).

2. His anger does not last forever (Ps. 103:9-10; Is. 54:7-8).

3. He restrains His anger (Eze. 16:41-43; Psa. 78:38).

C. There is a purpose to God’s longsuffering.

1. He desires to show mercy (2 Pet. 3:3-9, 15; 1 Tim. 2:4).

2. Through Christ we are delivered from the wrath to come (Rm. 5:8-9; Eph. 2:3-5; 1 Th. 5:9; 1 Jn. 2:2; Rm. 3:25).
