A Balm In Gilead

I. WHAT IS THE HEART? (MT. 22:37).

II. HOW CAN HEARTS BE BROKEN?

A. By sin

1. Breaks the heart of God

1). Father (Rm. 12:9; Gen. 6:6; Ps. 78:40-41)

2). Son (Is. 53:4; Jn. 1:11; Mt. 23:37)

3). Holy Spirit (Is. 63:9-10; Eph. 4:30)

2. Judgment is coming (Ex. 34:6-7; Hb. 10:26-31).

3. Jeremiah’s heartache (Jer. 8:18; 9:1; 8:20, 22)

B. By Satan (2 Cor. 4:4; Prov. 4:23)

C. By Imbalance (Mt. 22:37; 6:33; Col. 1:18)

1. Requirements for spiritual balance (2 Cor. 5:7; Hb. 6:19)

2. Keep moving forward (Ph. 3:13-14).

CONCLUSION:

A. There is a balm in Gilead.
