L. Carefully and prayerfully read the qualifications of elders as set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and other related passages.
II. Use the qualification list below for each candidate under consideration. Place a check mark beside each qualification met by the prospective elder under consideration. Use as many nomination forms as needed. Contact the church office if you need additional forms and we will make arrangements for you to pick them up or have them sent to you in the mail. Turn signed and completed forms in to Gene Blair or Rod Wilson.
AN ELDER MUST BE:
1. One who desires the work
2. Above reproach
3. The husband of one wife
4. Sober-minded
5. Self-controlled
6. Respectable
7. Hospitable
8. Able to teach
9. One who is not a drunkard
10. One who is not violent
11. Gentle
12. One who is not quarrelsome
13. One who is not a lover of money
14. One who manages his household well
15. One who is not a recent convert
16. One who is well thought of by outsiders
17. One whose children are believers
18. One who is not arrogant
19. One who is not quick-tempered
20. One who loves what is good
21. Upright
22. Holy
23. One who holds firm the faithful word
24. One whose wife is dignified, not a slanderer,
sober-minded, and faithful in all things
III. After careful consideration of the Scriptural qualifications required for elders, I believe that _____________________________________ is qualified to serve as a shepherd, and I would be pleased to serve under his oversight.
