Introduction:

A. Conversion is essential to salvation (Mt. 18:3).

B. Conversion involves turning to God (Acts 14:15; 1 Th. 1:9).

C. Why should we be converted to Jesus?

I. We must be converted to Jesus because of who He is.

A. He is our provider (Jn. 6:35, 51; 4:14).

B. He is our guide (Jn. 10:11; 1 Pet. 5:4; Hb. 13:20; Ps. 23:1-3).

C. He is our door (Jn. 10:9-10; 11:25; 14:6).

D. Who is Jesus? (1 Tim. 2:5; Mt. 9:12; Hb. 7:25; 4:14; 1 Jn. 2:2; Jn. 3:2; Dt. 18:15; 1 Tim. 2:6; 1 Cor. 1:30; Rm. 11:26; Hb. 6:20; 5:8-9; 2:10).

II. We must be converted to Jesus because of the appellations assigned to Him.

A. Jesus is the Christ (Mt. 16:16; Jn. 1:41).

B. Jesus is the Son of God (Mt. 16:16; Rm. 1:4; Acts 8:37; Jn. 10:30-36; 1:1; 10:30).

C. Jesus is the King (Mt. 2:2; 18:36; 1 Tim. 6:15; Col. 1:13).

D. Jesus is the Lord (Rev. 17:14; Rm. 10:12; Ph. 2:10-11; Rm. 14:11).

E. Jesus is the Savior (Mt. 1:21; Jn. 1:29; 4:29, 42; 1 Jn. 4:14; 1 Tim. 4:10; 2 Tim. 2:10; Eph. 1:3, 7; Gal. 3:26-27; Acts 2:47; Eph. 5:23).

III. We must be converted to Jesus because of His perfect blend of deity and character.

A. His deity (Jn. 1:1, 14, 18; 14:9; 1 Cor. 1:24; Rev. 1:8; Hb. 1:3).

B. His character (Jn. 14:6; Rev. 19:11; Rm. 3:4; 2 Tim. 2:12-13; Rev. 3:14; Prov. 27:6; Jn. 1:9; 15:1, 4; 1 Jn. 5:20; Jn. 12:48; Mt. 11:19; Hb. 4:15-16; 1 Tim. 2:5).

C. What does it really mean to be converted to Jesus?
1. Our lives will be centered around Him (Hb. 12:1-2; Ph. 1:21; Gal. 2:20).
2. Our lives will match up with His desires (1 Pet. 2:21; 2 Cor. 5:14-15;
Rm. 12:1-2).
3. How will you show that you have been converted to Jesus? (Acts 4:12).
