Only God has the power and intelligence to create life from nothing. Science pretends—fools around with things they know little about—but God is the power behind all things seen and unseen.

The human body is a remarkable example of the complexity and design behind God’s creative activity. The psalmist understates the matter when he says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made…” (Ps. 139:14). The more we discover, the more we are amazed at the wonderful work of God’s creation. It is not necessary for us to ascend the highest mountain or disappear into the most primitive forest to learn something of the mighty power of God. Due consideration to the marvels of the human body will serve the purpose. In the face of such knowledge, the notion that we are simply the by-product of chance evolution is utter foolishness.

David prays to God, saying, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them” (Psalm 139:13–16).

David says that God created his inward parts—that He had woven him together in his mother’s womb—that He had a plan for his life, even before he was born. Such is the wisdom and power of God. Abortion is destroying the work of God in the mother’s womb—it is ending God’s plan for a human being. Abortion ends a life already begun. Abortion is not a matter of personal choice and freedom. One person’s rights end where another person’s life begins. Thorough investigation is needed. If what is inside a mother’s womb is alive, we have no right to end that life. There is a higher law to consider—the law of our Creator.
