B. Factors involved in the growth of the early church:
1. The seed was scattered abundantly (Acts 8:4; 12:24).
2. Strong leadership of the apostles
3. Preparation prior to Pentecost (Jn. 4:38; 1 Pet. 2:2)

C. Press on to excellence in the Lord’s service (1 Cor. 3:6).

II. Repent of Past Mistakes.

A. Reject the “Blame Game” and focus on doing our part (Col. 3:12-14).

B. Leave the past behind and press on to the goal (Ph. 3:13; Acts 3:19; Jas. 4:9).

C. Remember Noah.
1. God looks at the heart.
2. Be patient.
3. Trust in God’s power.
4. Use your opportunities.
5. Enjoy being a child of the King.

III. Realize the Danger of Complacency.

A. Complacency breaks the heart of God.

B. We must move forward (Ph. 3:13).

C. Respectability is no excuse for complacency.

IV. Rekindle a Growing Spirit.

A. Develop a mindset for growth.

B. Growth is basic to spiritual life (1 Pet. 2:2; 2 Pet. 1:5-7; 3:18).
C. Center thoughts and actions around genuine growth.

V. Resolve to Keep a Positive Attitude.

A. Negative thinking is a tool of Satan (Ex. 3-4; Num. 13-14).

B. Moses’ advisors at the Red Sea

C. Encouragements for a positive attitude (Neh. 6:3; Rm. 8:31; Ph. 4:13).

VI. Raise Your Goals.

A. Goals for church growth (Acts 1:8)

B. Dare to be specific!

Conclusion:

A. There is no greater purpose than building up the Lord’s church.

B. Will you help promote His cause?
